I suppose when they designed the unit to be smaller they ran into cooling issues--hence the loud constant fan. Now if I can only manage to hang it OUTSIDE the car, the noise would not be an issue.

Super small--I owned an older model that was much bigger for the same power output. Runs my laptop when I use it in my car just fine.
Super noisy fan that runs constantly.

I used this daily last summer - camping w no electric for four months, in a dusty environment . It saved me. Limited of course - but I could run a fan & spotlight at the same time.

375W is plenty of power, but with just a 15A fuse on the 12v outlet -- the inverter is too much for it. @Anyone buying this, make sure that you have higher than 20A fuse on your outlet, or else you'd end up like me -- a blown fuse.

Works nicely, able to sustain 2 laptop chargers.
Blew the car's fuse after like 1 minute, with only one charger plugged in.

Pros: 1. Build Quality 2. Fused 3. Assembly quality ( I took it apart and there were no visible signs of poor assembly practices ) Neither here nor there 1.) The fan is loud. I believe around 30 dB.

If you tuck the unit under a seat it helps reduce the noticeable noise (obviously). If you're watching a video on a laptop or listen to the car stereo you probably wont notice the noise though.

Nice inverter, plenty of watts, feels solid
Slightly noisy fan - noticeable above average road noise

Works great on 1,000 mile mini-van trips powering two laptops, Nintendo DS and other overflow mobile devices less than 200 watts peak load. Have not used it to power anything with a heavier load. The cooling fan is not quiet so expect the added noise on your trip.

Note that it doesn't operate at full power (output) unless the engine is running. For example, could only power one laptop without the engine running; the minute I plugged in the second laptop, the inverter shut off until I started the car.

High power output without dedicated battery connectors. Attractive color. Two power plugs. Has it's own fuse.
Fan is fairly loud (roughly equivalent to the level of highway road noise, but not enough to drown out a DVD playing or quiet talking).

Works great! We haven't pushed limits on "load" yet but it does what we need it to do. The fan is little louder than I would like but nothing that would keep me from buying this same product again.

Pretty good product. Right now, I haven't re-wired my vehicle to power my ps3 yet, but I will soon and I have tested it and seems to work fine.

Compact and power's many things, like my PS3, but only if you run new wire or hook it up directly to the battery.
Pretty noisy. I am not sure if it's just the fan or not. I really haven't got that far with it. I bought this so I could use my PlayStation 3 in my car. Turns out that my car could not power something that high unless I run it directly from the battery. It also got pretty hot when I did that.

I play in a touring band and also have a job that requires me to work from the road. I had gone through a few different power inverters that couldn't produce enough power to keep my older Macbook (has to stay plugged in) running.
